The Annual Teachers Strike in Oaxaca

Every year for the last 19 years the teachers in Oaxaca state have gone on strike for the last couple of weeks of May. During this time they camp out in the centre of Oaxaca and general chaos ensues.

I don't recommend visiting Oaxaca during the last two weeks of May - I'm sure it's much nicer without all this chaos!
